Rider Resources
Your First Track Day
Everything you need to prepare for your first track day experience.
Safety First
Track days have strict safety requirements. All gear must pass technical inspection before you can ride. Requirements may vary slightly between organizations, so always check with your specific provider.
Rider Requirements
Age & Experience
- Must be 18 years or older (some organizations allow younger riders with special arrangements)
- Minimum 6 months of riding experience recommended
- Comfortable with all motorcycle controls and operation
Important Note
- Track days are designed to improve existing riding skills, not to teach basic motorcycle operation
- If you're new to riding, complete a basic motorcycle safety course first (MSF or equivalent)
Gear Requirements

- Full-face helmet with face shield
- Must be DOT, SNELL, ECE, or FIM certified
- No modular/flip-up chin bar helmets (usually not allowed)
- Good condition — no deep scratches, cracks, or damage

- Two-piece suits must zip together fully (360° zipper)
- Textile suits (Kevlar, ballistic nylon) may be allowed for beginner groups only(Check with organizer)
- Must have CE-rated armor at shoulders, elbows, and knees
Back Protector
- Back protector strongly recommended for all riders
- CE Level 2 hard-shell protector required for intermediate/advanced groups
- Suit-integrated foam padding alone may not be sufficient for faster groups
Gloves
- Gauntlet-style leather gloves
- Must provide full wrist coverage
- Must overlap suit sleeves
Boots
- Motorcycle-specific riding boots
- Must fully cover and protect ankles
- Must overlap suit pant legs

Gear Rentals
Most track day organizations do not offer gear rentals. You'll need to bring your own equipment. If you're missing gear, consider renting or purchasing before the event.
